The activity feed is a social stream in your app. Attendees post photos, videos and comments, and you can pull in comments and posts from other features.
Feature settings
Go to Main Navigation > Edit (Features/Menu) and click Activity Feed.
- Agenda (comments)
- Activity Feed (videos, photos, posts and comments)
- Discussion Board (posts and comments)
- Photos (photos and comments)
- Videos (videos and comments)
- Exhibitors (comments)
- News (comments)
Note: The CMS lists these by your menu button names, so Exhibitors may show as your Showcase button name and News as your Announcements button name. Only features in your menu appear.
Add the feed to your home screen
On your event dashboard, click Design > Phone Home Layout and click Activity Feed to add the panel. From the panel, attendees can see the latest posts and post photos, videos and comments.
Schedule a post
On the Activity Feed page (left menu), click + next to the feed name, then Create a Post (or Create a Photo). Use Display After to pick when it appears. Posts show you as the author unless you turn on Gathering as author, which posts it as the event. You can also limit a post to certain Participant Types.
Moderate posts
On the Activity Feed page (it's titled Social Activity), all posts show by default. Use Select All to pick everything, Reset Filters to clear filters, and Export > Excel to download posts. Use the feature names on the left to filter by where a post came from, or click + next to Posted Between to filter by date.
To moderate, check the posts, then:
- Toggle Approval to approve or hide them
- Delete Selected to remove them for good
Posts waiting for approval or scheduled for later show a Hidden label (for example, Hidden (Scheduled, Unapproved)). Turn on Scheduled to see only scheduled posts.
FAQ
Posts aren't showing in the app.
Two common causes: Moderate Content is on, so posts are waiting for approval, or the feature the posts come from isn't selected in the feed's settings.
Activity Feed, Discussion Board or Photos: which do I need?
The activity feed is a social stream of posts. The discussion board is for threads on set topics. Photos is a shared photo gallery. You can have one Activity Feed and one Photos feature per event.
Can I show the feed on a big screen?
Only by showing the web app version on that screen.
Can I add our X (Twitter) feed?
Not anymore. X changed its access rules.
The dashboard photo count doesn't match the list.
The list loads 40 photos at a time. Scroll to load more.
Next step: If posts still don't show on a phone, contact Certain Support with the device type and a screenshot.
