Adding an Image Map

To add a map to the maps button within your app, select the + New button in the top right of the screen.

Give your map a name and upload your image (png or jpg). All map images are saved at a maximum size of 4000px wide. You may wish to crop some of the image by dragging the cropping box, or hit approve without changing the cropping box to upload the image as is. Don't forget to hit save after approving your image crop.

Background Color: If you wish, you may also select a background color to match your map image. The default color is a light gray.

Margins: Setting a margin to a map image allows the user to scroll past the edge of the map. Leaving this set to the default value of "0" should work great for the majority of use cases.

Adding Pinned Locations to a Map

New Map Locations

To add a new location to your map, select the New Location+ button above the map view.

Enter the name of your location in the dialog box.

UnPinned Locations

New locations added to your map appear in the UnPinned tab. To pin the location, select the pin icon next to the location name. If you have added multiple locations, you can quickly add corresponding pins to each by selecting the pin icon next to each location in your UnPinned list. All new pins will get added to the center of your map, ready to be dragged and dropped to their final location.

New Pins

New pins appear on the map in red. This indicates you have not moved the pin from its default location and therefore it will not appear in the app yet. Drag the pin to save its final location. If you are pinning multiple locations at the same time, clicking the pin will show the name of the location before you drag it to its final location.

Other Locations

Adding existing locations to your map (from an agenda import for example), is done from the Other Locations tab. Select the + icon next to the location name to add it as an UnPinned location associated with this map. From there, pinning works exactly like that of any other UnPinned locations (see above).

Image Map on Device

Image maps will load "zoomed out" to display as much of the map as possible. Below is an example of how a 2000px w x 1098px h image loads in the app.

Adding a Street Map

In addition to displaying map images, you can also display street maps under the map button. This is useful for displaying a map of your event's venue location. Simply choose "Street Map" as the map type and give your map a name.

You can add pins to a street map in the same way as pins are added to an image map (see above). It is important to note that pinned locations do not appear until the user taps the map.

You can adjust the center point that the map will load to by panning the map and selecting the save view button from the top.

Likewise, you can adjust the zoom level of the map by hitting the + or - buttons on the map and then the save view button from the top.

 

Street Map On Device

Below is an example of the same street map from above, as it is loaded on the device.
*Note: no pin is shown by default, only after tapping the screen will pinned locations appear.

Locations

You can find a list of all locations under the Related Resources > Locations section of your side navigation menu.

Add Locations

Sometimes you may need to add a location that isn't associated with a map. From the locations list, you can add a new location by selecting the +New button from the top of the screen.

For locations that will be pinned later, simply enter the name of the location and save.

For locations that you would like to link to a Google map address, fill in the Address fields.

For locations that you would like to link to a website, fill in the Website Url field.
